Course Description: In this course students will learn how to respond to life-threatening situations with CPR skills, choking emergencies, and also master First-Aid skills such as wound care, wrapping sprains, and caring for bee stings, burns, blisters, and heat-related symptoms. This course is perfect for equipping young people who enjoy nature and want to be able to handle first aid situations, or for rising babysitters who need to be equipped with life-saving skills.

Course Description: Visual Arts using a variety of mediums such as acrylic paint, watercolor, and textured supplies. Projects will incorporate scriptural passages and theological principles related to art. This course requires 6 canvases, acrylic paints, paint brushes, and a small assortment of other materials.

iPad Photography

Course Description: This course will introduce students to fundamental photography basics and principles, giving them a platform to develop an eye for meaningful, well-composed photography all through their iPad. This course requires an iPad or iPhone, the Manual Camera App, and the Pixelmator App.

Course Description: Students will apply the basic principles of fictional storytelling by creating an original novella (short story). We will explore the details of storytelling devices, character arc and plot development. Students must be able to write a minimum of approximately 500 words a week to keep up with the pace of the course.

Hebrew Poetry: Interpretation & Analysis
Academic Discipline: Language Arts
Course Description: In this course “Hebrew Poetry: Interpretation & Analysis” students will learn how to read Hebrew poetry using a specific method for analysis that leads to interpretation. Students will engage in analyzing and interpreting passages from Psalms, Proverbs, Hosea, Micah, and Jeremiah. After learning the analysis process, students will produce an analysis, reflection, and additional assignments for each passage throughout the semester. They will also engage in reading/studying events from history and current events that parallel or contrast the content within scripture.
