The Academy for GOD is a Category III & IV non-public school, registered with the state of Tennessee and in compliance with all associated requirements. Category IV schools are Church-Related Schools, authorized to operate homeschool umbrella programs, as recognized by associations mentioned in TCA 49-50-801.

As a Category III school, The Academy is accredited by Cognia, formally AdvancED. Cognia® is a global, nonprofit improvement organization dedicated to helping institutions and other education providers grow learners, teachers, and leaders. Cognia offers accreditation and certification, assessment, and improvement services within a framework of continuous improvement. In it’s first year of accreditation the Academy was recognized by Cognia as a School of Distinction among 2,000 schools who achieved accreditation during the 2023-2024 academic year placing the Academy among the top 3% of all schools. Furthermore, the Academy is the only school in our state of Tennessee to be recognized.

The Academy is a member of ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and aligns itself with the association’s mission, vision, and statement of faith. The Academy adheres to the local laws pertaining to enrollment and attendance, as well as safety requirements such as extensive fire alarm systems and weather-related school closure.
